Center for Latino Community Health

California State University, Long Beach

The NCLR/CSULB Center for Latino Community Health, Evaluation, and Leadership Training was established in 2005 to support and create diverse community health initiatives that increase access to culturally and linguistically relevant health education, prevention, screening, and treatment. The Center for Latino Community Health and the PRO-Health Research Program have collaborated on several community health initiatives including our community-based exercise intervention Active Moms / Mamás Activas and our new Rooting for Better Health / Fortaleciendo Nuestras Raíces Project. We have also worked together on two campus-wide initiatives for strengthening CSULB’s research infrastructure with our AHORA Program and providing support and training to underrepresented students pursuing doctoral training for health-related research careers with our CSULB BUILD Initiative.
