PRO-Health (Partners in Research & Outreach for Health) was established in 2006 to provide innovative programs aimed at improving the health of traditionally underserved populations through collaboration with community partners.
Our PRO-Health Team identifies at-risk groups to address several areas of health:
– Risk for chronic diseases, such as heart disease and major depression
– Impact of stress and coping behaviors on one’s physiological health
– Effect of parents’ health and behaviors on their child’s health
We develop and test community-based programs that address:
Our goal is to ensure that each of our programs is culturally-tailored and sustainable for the communities we serve in order to improve health care access and reduce health disparities.
Grant funding from Federal and State agencies have supported this work.
