Dr. Urizar is a Professor of Psychology and is the Director of the PRO-Health Research Program at CSULB. He completed his PhD in Clinical & Health Psychology and his postdoctoral training in the areas of minority mental health at UCSF and cardiovascular disease epidemiology and prevention at Stanford University. His work focuses on designing and evaluating the effectiveness of community-based behavioral interventions on preventing stress-related disorders among low-income families during critical periods of development, such as pregnancy.
